Tmall releases annual consumer purchase survey
Online retailer Tmall recently released its annual report on consumer purchases by age, location and gender. Xiamen jewelry purchases increased by 32 percent while auto purchases rose by 15 percent, both trailing the national average increase.
Female consumers in Xiamen had the fifth-highest total quantity of purchases, trailing Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing and Nanjing.
Purchases of books by women in Xiamen jumped 25 percent year-on-year, the second-highest increase in the country. Nationwide, women of post-80's purchased 48 million books, the highest total for any age category.
